I did not have dark brown sugar so used light brown. The dish turned out wonderfully! It was well received at the Thanksgiving table. As luck would have it, I ran across a recipe for Pork tenderloin with a cranberry sauce and was able to use up the bit of sauce left over from turkey day.Jim in Tampa Bayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07071659457123020017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5090591139439935093.post-33112612874665490272022-11-09T13:20:54.583-08:002022-11-09T13:20:54.583-08:00I grew up on canned jellied cranberry sauce. Some years ago, much to my disappointment, they dropped my favorite, the Cran-Raspberry. When I saw your recipe I got to thinking I might be able to make this and substitute raspberries for the O.J. It was so good, my husband really liked it and he doesn't usually even eat it. I'm planning on making it again for Christmas, but will strain it since most of my family prefers a smoother texture. I started doing it in the crock pot a few years ago. I use one bag of cranberries, 3-4 Granny Smith apples, anywhere from 2/3 to 1 cup of sugar (depending on how sweet I want it and how many apples I put in), and 3/4 cup of water.
