I threw the rosemary in as it was, and it was easy to remove from the pot when cooked. We had it with mashed sweet potato, broccoli, peas and broad beans (fava). I wouldn't have wanted any more lemon though.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09811074461582462489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5090591139439935093.post-3647360688355125172016-02-16T15:53:45.476-08:002016-02-16T15:53:45.476-08:00I cook mine from frozen all the time I do a ring o...I cook mine from frozen all the time I do a ring of tinfoil at the bottom. I rubbed the chicken with a mix of cinnamon, paprika, salt, pepper. Stuffed it with a quartered apple and a few garlic cloves. Topped with fresh sprigs of rosemary and thyme. If you aren't a fan of lemon zest, you might want to stick to just the lemon juice instead of the slices. Or wait until your lemons are really yellow and easy to squeeze.Stephanie ODeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08618710485017373256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5090591139439935093.post-17364375488589122042013-05-13T10:27:49.581-07:002013-05-13T10:27:49.581-07:00Hi! I cooked whole lemon slices with chicken one and it did make it bitter, but maybe I did something wrong and there's a trick to doing it right?jazandclarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16005129672779513836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5090591139439935093.post-59621371764790360582012-10-19T07:43:09.628-07:002012-10-19T07:43:09.628-07:00My family and I liked the taste but it came out dr...My family and I liked the taste but it came out dry. I followed the recipe but left the skin on, added a splash of wite wine and cooked breast side down on low for 8-hours. The drum sticks fell off bu the rest held together long enough for me to remove with tongs and flip. I browned it under the broiler for less than two minutes and it looked great just wish it hadn't been dry. I know, Steph doesn't like to cook food twice, but I think the thighs take on a deeper flavor if you do this. I deglazed the pan with a little white wine, which I then poured over the chicken.
