Chocolate and Marshmallow Fluff Fondue for the Little Dipper CrockPot

Day 306.

Happy November!

This is for Breezy, who pointed out that I missed Fondue Friday yesterday.

She's right. I did.

Breezy needs a fondue recipe for football tomorrow.

So. Stop eating waxy Halloween candy and eat this.

It tastes better, and since it's all stirred up and cooked the calories magically disappear. right?

The Ingredients.

--7 oz milk chocolate
--3 oz white chocolate
--1 cup marshmallow fluff
--1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
--1 T almond extract (or you could add Amaretto)

The Directions.

The best part of this (for me) was that I sent Adam to the store to get the chocolate and he came home with the good stuff: Cadbury and Ghiradelli

I totally would have cheaped out, and he didn't.

Break up the chocolate bars into the Little Dipper.

Eat a few squares to make sure it tastes okay.

Add the almond extract or Amaretto and the whipping cream.

Scoop out a cup of marshmallow fluff from the jar, and push it in with your fingers, so you can then lick them.

mmm.

Cover, and plug in the Dipper. Cook for about 90 minutes, stirring every 30 minutes or so.

Lick the spoons.

Serve with cubes of pound cake, graham crackers, cut up fruit, and some almonds.

The Verdict.

very tasty. I need to brush my teeth.

Yum! This goes on my "must try" list! And I love the helpful comments!
Okay, on a slightly related note, I have a question about the 5-layer brownies. I've made it twice now, and both times the edge gets all bitter tasting. I still eat it, cuz, well, it would be wasteful not to! But it isn't all sweet and amazing like the middle. Any ideas??

who needs cheap halloween candy when you can have fondue? i'm off to the store!!!

  3. lol, Kay!

Corrie, hmm. Is it burning? Is it a burnt chocolate flavor? Do you spray the crock first? Maybe take the cover off for the last little bit? I do know that the edges will cook faster than the middle, because that's where the heat is in the crock, but I wonder if having the lid off will help near the end of cooking time.

  9. P.S. Since I'm not a huge almond extract fan, do you think some vanilla would work instead?

(In case you didn't notice, I've reluctantly decided to forgive you for posting such a delicious-looking recipe.)

  21. This looks great! I have a really good dessert fondue recipe that I served at a Christmas party last year. I used a fondue pot, but now I will try it in the little dipper. It is Nutella Fodue-it is so easy and so good! Here's the recipe.

    1 jar Nutella
1 (16 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips
    3 dark chocolate bars, broken

and of course whatever you'd like to dip in it-biscotti, marhmallows, fruit, pound cake...
i actually have a crazy friend who dipped a proscuitto sandwich in this fondue on a dare and said it was good!

  22. just a quick question- the marshmallow fluff is GF ? Always wondered what marshmallows you used.
    Thanks, Eileen

  23. Hi Eileen,

you should always do your own research, but Kraft is a Unilever product, and Unilever does not hide gluten. Actually, with the new labeling laws, food is supposed to be clearly labeled for potential allergens anyhow, but Kraft and Unilever make my heart warm and fuzzy for doing so without being told.
